Puddingstone Music Series Continues with Enchanting Concert in Newport

Clemens Teufel, the German pianist and Newport resident, is set to captivate audiences once again as he continues his Puddingstone Music Series with a third live concert in December. Teufel’s unique approach combines performing and non-performing arts, creating an accessible 19th-century-style salon experience. Drawing inspiration from the cultural richness of Newport, Teufel envisions the city as a hub of music and art accessible to all.

The series debuted last month with sold-out performances at Greenvale Vineyards and IYRS. The enthusiastic audience, numbering 135 at IYRS’s Restoration Hall, reveled in the beauty of Philip Glass String Quartet No. 9 “King Lear” on a picturesque Saturday evening.

Upcoming Performance:

Friday, December 8 at 6:00 pm – “Rêves de Provence” at Provence sur Mer (39 Touro Street, Newport)

An enchanting evening awaits at Newport’s new events venue, Provence sur Mer. Puddingstone founder Clemens Teufel, along with classical pianist Angela Kim, will present four-handed and solo piano music by Ravel, Debussy, Chopin, and Liszt. The performance will be accompanied by an improvised dance by professional contemporary ballet dancer Katie Moorhead and insights into pastel influences by artist Jeanne Rosier Smith. Attendees can indulge in small bites, wine, and refreshments.
