The Connecticut Ballet is set to dazzle audiences with its 40th anniversary production of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, featuring an array of celebrated guest artists.
Under the artistic direction of Brett Raphael, this year’s performances promise to be a spectacular showcase of talent, with principal dancers from New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Pennsylvania Ballet gracing the stage in the iconic roles of the Sugar Plum Fairy and Her Cavalier.
The performances will take place at two of Connecticut’s most esteemed venues: the opulent Palace Theatre in Stamford and the intimate Belding Theatre at The Bushnell in Hartford. Audiences can look forward to a magical experience, enhanced by the chance to meet the star performers in the lobby after each show. The Connecticut Ballet’s Nutcracker Holiday Boutique will also be open, offering a treasure trove of holiday gifts.
The Palace Theatre in Stamford will host performances on Saturday, December 14, and Sunday, December 15, while The Bushnell in Hartford will welcome audiences on Saturday, December 21, and Sunday, December 22. Tickets are available now and can be reserved through the respective box offices or online.
In addition to the main performances, Connecticut Ballet will present a special Share the Magic student performance on Friday, December 20, at The Bushnell.
This condensed version of The Nutcracker is designed for students in grades K-8 and offers an affordable way for school groups to experience the magic of ballet. The performance is made possible with support from Travelers and an anonymous donor through the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.
